My hp built-web cam only works when notebook lid is half closed? Is there any ways I can fix this?

i have a hp pavilion dv3021tx notebook. I think it has nothing to do with the drivers -- im not sure -- and only started to do this a couple of weeks ago. any ideas on whats happening with my laptop?

There's something wrong with the hardware, and depending on what it is it may cost you a lot. You should take the computer in to best-buy and get it checked out. Then they will give you an estimate on how much it will cost to fix it. My computer crashed and they fixed it and even made it run faster.My hp built-web cam only works when notebook lid is half closed? Is there any ways I can fix this?
Sounds like a hardware fault, probably a lose connection. Try removing the webcam from device manager, reboot and it will find the camera again. Install the driver when prompted. If you still get the same problem then i'd suggest contacting HP to get it repaired.
