I wanna try to go to school. But havent really worked in a while. And I didnt file taxes last year either..simple mistake. So can I still get financial aid?Can I get financial aid if i havent worked this year?
File your return for last year. If you don't owe anything, then there should be no penalties.
Then complete the FAFSA http://www.FAFSA.ed.gov That's the first step for grants, scholarships, and loans.
Then pick out a school. State schools are less expensive than private. If you can knock out some of your undergraduate courses at a local community college, that can save you a bundle. Just be sure to coordinate with whatever 4-year school you'll transfer to so that all of your credits transfer.
Live on campus; always cheaper than a private apartment. Eat in the cafeteria; not sexy by again cheaper. Buy used books wherever you can. Park the car. Turn off the cell phone. Use the clothes you already own.
Good luck. It's worth it.
