We can't get grass to grow on my father's grave, will this really work?

The only other thing we have not tried is sod. The grave site gets plenty of sun, but can't get any grass to grow. The caretakers claim that they have tried everything and if we have any ideas we can gladly use it. Please help. He's been gone for three years now, but his site looks as if he was just burried. We can't get grass to grow on my father's grave, will this really work?
Botanically speaking, if there's nothing wrong with the soil, if the coffin is not made of/with toxic-to-plants substances (like walnut wood or some type of paint/finishing product), sod should work.

For the other part of the possible problem, maybe he would prefer flowers or groundcover. Possibly forgetmenots and myrtle. And maybe you could go to the site and ... discuss the matter. We can't get grass to grow on my father's grave, will this really work?
im so sry about ur dads death try it it cant hurt
Ms G,

The caretakers must water the seed planted or sod. If they do not do this the site will still remain bare. If you really want grass to grow go there everyday for a month after planting seeds or sod and water the site. They should be ashamed of themselves. I am sure they have a way to water the site. Good luck.
If indeed the caretakers have done everything they can; this of course, should include seeding along with daily watering. Then an additional option would be to have them perform a slit seeding over the grave site. Simple over-seeding may not work; however, running a slit seeding machine over the grave site could do the trick.
You need to pray.....grass won't grow over a restless soul!
